I am participating in the Hunt 1000, a self-supported cycling race that spans 1,000 kilometers from Canberra through the stunning Victorian High Country to Melbourne, culminating on November 30th. https://bikepacking.com/routes/hunt-1000/
This grueling event is dedicated to my dear friend, Sue Adams, who has been courageously battling Metastatic Breast Cancer for the past three years. Sue had also had Lobular Breast Cancer in 1997 and has had over nine years of treatment. Her diagnosis was the same as Olivia's and Sue wants to get the message out to women to be aware that even after remission from the first treatment. The cancer can come back years later!
Although Sue resides in the UK, she has inspired me to support the ONJ Cancer Centre, a cause that resonates deeply with her personal journey. While the challenges of the Hunt 1000 are significant, they pale in comparison to the strength and determination shown by Sue and every cancer patient facing their own battles.
I hope to raise awareness and funds for the ONJ Cancer Centre through this ride, honoring Sue's spirit and the resilience of all those affected by cancer.
